Cove, a Melbourne-based business situated in Ferntree Gully, operates similarly to Zero Co by employing a refill and reuse approach. However, Cove distinguishes itself by utilizing durable aluminum bottles instead of plastics. These bottles are not meant to be discarded and have a much higher recycling rate.
The refill pouches contain a potent plant-based cleaning formula. When poured into the aluminum dispenser and mixed with tap water, you get an effective and environmentally friendly cleaning product for various household uses.
The starter kit, priced at $49.95, includes laundry liquid, all-purpose surface spray, glass and window cleaner, and shower and bathroom cleaner. Additionally, Cove offers dishwasher tablets and reusable microfiber cloths.

Crafted from heavy-duty aluminum and accompanied by high-quality dispensers, they are built to withstand continuous use rather than being discarded.
Why Aluminum?
Aluminum is infinitely recyclable and has a significantly higher recycling rate in Australia compared to plastics. While only about 12% of plastic is recycled in the country, metals boast an impressive 90% recycling rate according to the 2018 National Waste Report. Clearly, we favor the latter.
Refill System
Our refill pouches are designed to minimize waste. Compared to standard bottles, they use 80% less plastic.
We faced the challenge of finding a suitable alternative to plastic for liquid containment. Unfortunately, cardboard does not meet our requirements. After extensive research, we arrived at the best available solution—significantly reducing plastic usage.
Our lightweight pouches are made from a blend of aluminum and other low-density materials, which ensures our environmental impact remains minimal.

In comparison to regular cleaning products, our refill pouches contain more active ingredients and at least 75% less water. This not only reduces emissions during transport, as we are shipping less water across the country, but also conserves water resources.
Plant-Based Ingredients
The majority of cleaning products are composed of petrochemicals.
Petro-what? They are chemical compounds derived from fossil fuels such as petroleum, gas, and coal. But not at Cove.
We believe it is more sensible to derive our active ingredients from renewable sources like plants. To ensure this, our dedicated scientists work diligently to stay at the forefront of green chemistry.
Moreover, we refrain from using synthetic fragrances and instead rely on the delightful scents of nature.
Renewable Energy
Guess what? Our local manufacturing facility runs on solar energy.
In fact, we possess one of the largest privately owned solar installations in Australia.
